![]() The constant purposeful name mispronunciation and quotes like “shit filter’s full,” was exactly how I remember a certain Senior Chief I knew talked. I especially enjoyed the interrogation scene dialogue between Senior and the terrorist cell financier, Cristo. That's what the level of stress and fear they deal with (and prevail in spite of) does to them.īryan said it best: "My favorite SEAL/actor was the salty Senior Chief that threw out some great terms of endearment that made me smile and laugh my ass off. ![]() All those awkward strange seemingly forced sentences, that's how it happens in real life for those families. You really need to gain a better understanding of just how good the 'acting' in that movie was. When a Ranger or GB goes on leave stateside he doesn't have to limit himself to 1-2 beers tops at family birthday parties and keep his gear in order with his wife and children on edge so he can report to base and get on a C-130 within 35 minutes of being paged. Those were real, but have nothing to do with what team guys do or how it affects their families. I particularly liked the familiar language and talk I remember so fondly from the community."Īnd what documentary on the teams does combat better justice than this? Please enlighten me? To my knowledge, there has never been one attempted specific to the teams.ĭon't waste my time with a counter about anything related to conventional warfare or the Green Beret embedded videographer that ended in an IED ambush or Restrepo. You could tell they weren’t actors, but I actually appreciated the candor that came across. Or if you prefer to zero in on dialogue in between military sequences, take it from someone who actually went through BUD/S with one of the stars of this film: "Something I really appreciated throughout the movie was that the team guys were allowed to speak as they normally would. It was better acting than anything else on film. All that I'm asking of people who didn't care for the movie is to please read this and consider it prior to spouting off about something you know nothing about.Įven if we were to entertain your opinion that good acting is a must for any movie to be good, it's flawed in that you refuse to consider the acting they did during all military sequences. I wrote this in a reply to one of the critics but they were down voted below threshold and I don't want the message to be lost in the shuffle. I've seen a ton of bad mouthing AoV calling it propaganda, bad acting, etc.
